    • Film Editing
    • Scriptwriting
    • Digital Still Photography
    • Acting/Directing
    • Makeup, and Special Effects.

2019 Certificate Course Batch Schedule

    • Batch 1 - February 04 to March 18.
    • Batch 2 - April 01 to May 13.
    • Batch 3 - July 15 to August 31.
    • Batch 4 - September 02 to October 14.
    • Batch 5 - October 22 to November 26.

The programs is design to give participant hands-on-equipment at its best. Open to public/private organizations who may want the programs at their doors step to suit their work schedules during officer hours.

Tuition Fee per course per participant - N60,000. Excluding accommodation and feeding. Note: That participants can only register for a maximum of 2 courses.

Duration - 6 weeks.

Registration commences on arrival of the participant at the National Film Institute, Jos.

General Entry Requirements


Candidates applying for the Diploma or Bachelor of Film Arts must obtain credit in English Language, Literature in English, Physics and any other four subjects in the humanities at not more than two (2) sittings, in addition to at least a pass in Mathematics at SSCE, GCE '0' Level.

Four-Year Degree Programme

Applicants must write the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and obtain the approved scores in the Use of English (compulsory) and three other subjects.

Two -Year Diploma Programme

Applicants must write the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and obtain the approved scores in the Use of English (compulsory) and three other subjects.

Three-Year Degree Programme

Candidates should hold a Diploma in Mass Communication of the National Film Institute and Media Arts Studies, Jos, Diploma in Journalism or Television Journalism, Television Production and any other qualification as may be approved from a recognized institution with a minimum of Merit Pass.

Certificate Course

The Certificate program is run quaterly by the Institute spanning between 6 to 12weeks. Reminder adverts are usually place online and other media for this program.

Outreach Program

The Outreach program is usually organized for willing Institutions and corporate organizations on demand.
